Chimney Rock Bed & Breakfast

"How loud can quiet be?"

Chimney Rock Bed & BreakfastModern accommodation cradled in Breeding Valley near the Livingstone Range of the Alberta Rockies. Hike through the peaceful rangeland of the Ranch that overlooks Chaffen Creek. Both bedrooms have bathrooms. Full ranch breakfast.

Chimney Rock Bed and Breakfast is nestled between the Livingston Range and the Porcupine Hills in what is historically known as Breeding Valley. During your stay, we will share the panoramic, mountain view from either deck overlooking Chaffen Creek and south down the valley. The elevation is approximately 1300 meters (4300 feet), similar to the Banff townsite. The Rocky Mountains dictate the sometimes-radical climate changes occurring in our region – Chinook winds to warm our winter days and hot summer days with cooler evenings.

The Webster Ranch is a working cow-calf operation and the family has been ranching here since 1946. There are lots of stories to be told over a mug of coffee – most of them are true. There are miles of fenceline to maintain and plenty of other chores we would be happy to share with you but we can show you another way to enjoy a “3D Western”.

  • Dawn: Watch the mountains turn a rosy pink as the sun nudges them awake. Listen to the birds crowd around the birdfeeder for their breakfast. Catch a glimpse of the deer as they come out to enjoy the morning warmth. Learn about the area’s ranching heritage.
  • Daytime: Nap in the sun on your private deck. Drive through the country. Go fishing or hiking or skiing or hunting. Shop for antiques. Read a book. Look over Deb’s pressed flowers/weeds. Do some sightseeing along The Cowboy Trail. Enjoy a big, blue Alberta sky. Build a snowman. Paint a picture.
  • Dusk: See the sun tuck the mountains back in bed with a brilliant, magenta blanket. Hear the birds make their last rounds before they roost for the night. Look for the wildlife as they wander back to the cover of the trees to bed down. Listen to beavers splash in the creek as they engineer another log or rock in place. After dark you’ll have an opportunity to see the stars, or even the northern lights.

Chimney Rock Bed and Breakfast has 2 bedrooms, both have queen-size beds with a separate, keyed entrance. The “Room with a View” has an ensuite bathroom while the “Buckskin ‘n Blue” bedroom has a private bathroom. The teepee is available for overnight accommodation – bring your own bedding. A full Ranch-style breakfast is included. Lunch or supper meals may be arranged at an extra charge – please allow 24 hours notice.
