A Little Taste of Country

Bringing together the finest artisan-made Canadian food products to one central location

A Little Taste of CountryA Little Taste of Country was started in 2009 by Richard and Betty Anne with a vision of bringing together the finest artisan-made Canadian food products to one central location. We strive to carry foods that are free of added chemicals or colours, as well as MSG and gluten-free wherever possible. Our diverse range of product offerings alongside our passion for sharing information, recipes and stories has allowed us to continually grow our company and expand our product lines.

We take great pride in every single product line we carry – from Alberta honeys to hand-made soup mixes from Vancouver Island, savoury mixes from Nova Scotia, jams from Ontario and so much more. Our team takes the time to sample any prospective new product to ensure it is up to our standard and in line with our vision of craft and care.

In our quest to offer a diverse shopping experience, we also carry a selection of lifestyle products including Iceberg Coolers that can keep your food and drinks cool for 24 hours, collapsible Bubi brand water bottles, easy to use, military-certified tie downs, reusable tie-down bands and more!

We currently have two locations in Calgary markets, open year-round at Crossroads Farmers Market and Granary Road Market, and in May of 2018 we opened our first full-time store in beautiful downtown Cochrane, right next door to the iconic MacKay’s Ice Cream. In early summer, we will be opening Kay’s Corner within our Cochrane location – offering coffees prepared with locally roasted beans, teas, soups, salads, pastries and made to order sandwiches.

Our Cochrane store is open 7 days a week:
Summer Hours – June 1st to September 30, from 10am to 8pm
Winter Hours – October 1st to May 3

1st from 10am to 6pmWe look forward to seeing you soon!
