Boundary Ranch offers several different options to meet every person’s desires! Horseback riding paired with white-water rafting provided by Canadian Rockies Rafting is sure to excite and exhilarate the adventurous family; this is our “Surf & Saddle” package which includes our 2-hour Ridge Ride paired with a steak or hamburger lunch. After lunch you head off to the Kananaskis River for your rafting experience a full day of fun filled adventure! Perhaps a guided tour through the trails being pulled by Snowy Owl’s Huskies is more your style; this popular package known as the “Woof & Hoof” includes dog carting, our 1.5 hour Valley Vista trail ride, a tour of the ranch’s wildlife museum as well as a traditional BBQ burger lunch.
Experience the wonder of Kananaskis Country on one of our guided trail rides offered daily. Available options are the 1-hour Buffalo Loop which provides a guaranteed sighting of our Bison viewing pen, our 1.5 hour Valley Vista trail which loops through the “haunted forest” as well as a guaranteed sighting of the bison pen. Our most popular ride suitable for all level of riders is our 2-hour Ridge Ride. The Ridge Ride provides panoramic views of the Rocky Mountain range with Mt. Kidd in the background, providing an amazing backdrop for photos capturing a lifetime of memories. For our more experienced riders we offer the half day Trail Blazer ride. The Trail Blazer gives you an opportunity to travel deeper into the Kananaskis Range and experience the back country. We pack a snack to enjoy at a brief rest stop, and then jump back in the saddle for more exploring and captivating landscapes. Our full day Adventure Ride offers an opportunity to discover the fresh sights, sounds, and smells of a Kananaskis morning as you ride along the valley ridge. A hearty lunch is provided and enjoyed beside a tranquil water fall before climbing back into the saddle to continue exploring the forest, mountain trails and alpine passes. Upon return to the ranch a snack and beverage is provided to round up your day. We are pleased to offer rides for individuals that have never ridden to the more experienced rider. Children ages 6 and up are welcome to join in on the fun!
Boundary Ranch hosts private group events for groups from 20 to 1,000 folks. We offer several options including private rodeos, learn to rope on Lonesome and Lester the tamest mount on the ranch, line dance your night away or participate in western-themed corporate team building challenges, BBQ lunches, dinners and much more! To reach us it is an hour and a half drive off the Cowboy Trail. Head west at Longview, on Hwy#541, towards the Highwood Pass to begin a trip that will stimulate your senses. You will travel through ranch country, the foothills and slowly climb to the Highwood Pass where you will connect with Hwy#40 also known as the Kananaskis Trail. Kananaskis Country is 4200 square kilometres of towering peaks, high mountain lakes and alpine meadows in the heart of the Alberta Rockies. Leaving the Highwood Pass you will gradually descend into a beautiful valley encompassing pristine glacier-fed lakes and streams, breathtaking vistas of untouched mountain peaks and virgin pine forest where you will find a wilderness playground. Down the road in the Kananaskis Valley you will arrive at Boundary Ranch.
